State-run telecom firm BSNL announced the launch of small-scale 4G services in December and the company has claimed that it plans to roll out the service across the country by June next year.
The company’s chairman and managing director PK Purwar gave this information at the India Mobile Congress.

BSNL is preparing to launch this service first in Punjab and has already prepared a network of 200 sites with hardware for the purpose.
More sites are being set up in Punjab. BSNL aims to gradually increase network readiness to 6,000, then 9,000, 12,000 and 15,000 sites per month.
After the launch of this service, BSNL’s next target is to roll out 4G services across the country by June 2024. After that, they plan to work on 5G.
