Punishment awarded to Dalip Tahil: Renowned actor Dalip Tahil has been sentenced to two years in prison. The court sentenced the actor in a five-year-old case. This incident was in 2018 when Dalip was seen driving under the influence of alcohol. At that time, he ran over an autorickshaw with his car, seriously injuring a woman.

According to a report by LiveMint, a magistrate court convicted Dalip in the 2018 hit and run case based on evidence. Dalip refused to give his blood sample to the police for testing at the time of the accident, the evidence said. But later his sample was taken and according to the doctors report alcohol was found in him.

What did Dalip say about punishment?
In a special conversation with ABP News, Dalip Tahil said, ‘I respect the decision of the Magistrate Court. I am going to challenge the decision of the Magistrate Court in the Sessions Court. The sentence imposed on me by the Magistrate Court is a suspended sentence. An accident that occurred in 2018 was a very minor accident.

Was Dalip drunk while driving?
Dalip further said, ‘The victim had very minor injuries in the accident and was given some medicine and sent from the hospital. In view of this we will challenge this decision in the High Court. However, the matter is not as published in the media. On the question of drunk driving, Dalip Tahil said he is going to challenge every aspect of the magistrate court’s decision in court.

In 2018, Dalip was driving under the influence of alcohol and this time he hit an autorickshaw. Two people were injured in the accident, one being Zenitha Gandhi (21 years) and the other Gaurav Chugh (22). After the accident, Dalip fled from the spot but got stuck in the traffic jam caused by Ganesh Bisarjan procession. Later people caught him. But Dalip also pushes him.
