Delhi AQI: Delhi air shows slight improvement. This improvement is being talked about on the basis of Air Quality Index i.e. AQI. A day earlier, the AQI crossed 300 in many parts of Delhi, which falls in the very bad category. As of Monday evening, Delhi’s air quality index was very poor. A day later i.e. Tuesday, there is a slight improvement in it. The government’s monitoring agency said it recorded a slight improvement in AQI on Tuesday morning. Delhi’s average AQI was recorded at 220 at 12 pm on Tuesday, down from 263 at 4 pm on Monday.
Delhi’s air quality on Sunday turned “very poor” for the first time since May, mainly due to a drop in temperature and wind speed. A lot of pollutants and air particles accumulated due to low wind speed. On Monday, Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai said the government has identified eight more pollution hotspots in the national capital in addition to the existing 13 and special teams will be deployed there to investigate the sources of pollution.(Contd…)
