Govt to buy 20 quintals of paddy per acre from Chhattisgarh farmers, says CM Bhupesh Baghel – Work begins on election manifesto

Chhattisgarh assembly elections have been announced. Meanwhile, all political parties are making various announcements to attract voters. Now farmers and agriculture are also getting special place in election manifestos and leaders are trying to win the hearts of farmers. Under this effort, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that this time the paddy purchase limit from Chhattisgarh farmers will be increased and up to 20 quintals of paddy will be purchased per farmer. Regarding this announcement, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said in a press conference that we have made three announcements. It is said that 20 quintals of paddy will be purchased from the farmers. All this has been arranged.

It may be noted that from November 1, collection of paddy will start in Chhattisgarh at government rate. Paddy harvesting will begin from November 1, 2023 and continue till January 31, 2024. Officials on paddy procurement said that a maximum of 20 quintals of paddy per acre would be procured from farmers as per the Chief Minister’s announcement. Also, regarding the purchase of second kharif crop maize, officials said that 10 quintals of maize per acre will be purchased from farmers at MSP. Maize harvesting will also start from November 1 and continue till February 28.

Baghel attacked BJP

On other announcements, Bhupesh Baghel told the press conference that he has made three announcements, the first of which is that he will conduct a caste census in the state if he comes to power. The second announcement was about paddy collection. Talking about the third announcement, he said that houses will be built for seventeen and a half lakh people in the state. Along with this, while attacking the Bharatiya Janata Party on the occasion, he said that it had made three major announcements while in power while the BJP has yet to announce a single one.

Announcements made for farmers in the budget session

It may be noted that in this year’s budget session, many big announcements have been made for farmers. These announcements have been made ahead of the elections. Where it was stated that 20 quintals of paddy per acre would be procured from farmers in the state. Earlier, 15 quintals of paddy per acre was procured from farmers in the state. Let us know that there will be two-phase elections in the state. The first phase of voting will be held on November 7, and the second phase will be held on November 17.
